About Me…

Hi I’m Stuart and I’m a Clinical Psychologist. I’ve always enjoyed reading but for many years my reading for fun had become squeezed out by constant studying and reading academic psychology papers and books. Over the past year, I have had the time to return my love of reading. I’ve really enjoyed getting involved in the book communities on Instagram and Twitter and taking part in an online book group. This has opened my eyes to a whole host of new authors and genres as well as meeting some likeminded book lovers. Over the past year I’ve read a number of amazing books with compelling and complex characters, that I felt drawn to don my Clinical Psychologist hat and dig a bit deeper into the characters.
I’ve found the process of using case formulation to have been a lot of fun and it only enhances my appreciation of the writing and my investment in these characters. I have attempted to vary my approach to writing, drawing from a range of therapeutic models which I hope also keeps it interesting for the reader.
I’ve really enjoyed getting to know the #Bookstagram and #BookTwitter communities and it’s been great to hear feedback on this work and also suggestions for new books to explore. There have also been a few authors who have got in touch with their books and I’m really keen to explore this further. If you have any ideas for great books you have read or written get in touch with my by email or through one of my social media platforms. I’d love to hear from you and take this in further directions as I develop my breadth of reading and also explore new and exciting ways to apply psychology to literature.
